Choose Aurora & IHDA Down Payment Assistance Programs

Thinking about buying a home but concerned about the down payment?

Join The Neighbor Project, the City of Aurora, and the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) for an informational session about programs that can help make homeownership more affordable.

The Neighbor Project will also share how we support future homebuyers through homebuyer education, the counseling process, and the certificate required to access many down payment assistance programs.

Attendees will learn about:

  • Choose Aurora program, which may offer up to $27,000 in down payment assistance for eligible homebuyers

  • IHDAccess Home program, which can provide up to $15,000 in downpayment assistance & closing costs

  • How these programs work

  • Who may qualify

  • What steps you can take to start preparing for homeownership
