Aurora Financial Empowerment Center

Beat debt, build credit and start saving for your future.

Take back your finances.

Getting your financial life in order is the first step toward buying a home, furthering education, or building a stronger foundation for your family — but it’s hard to do alone.

Feel stuck? Our coaches have your back.

The Financial Empowerment Center is a free service provided by the City of Aurora and The Neighbor Project to help you reclaim financial independence. Here’s how.

Free coaching — in English or en español.

• Work one-on-one with a certified financial coach

• Set personal financial goals

• Access safe banking options

• Reduce debt

• Improve your credit

• Save for the things that matter to you

Your partner on the path to freedom.

At your first session, your financial coach will talk with you about your goals and complete a Financial Health Assessment.

Then, you’ll create a plan together.

In your follow-up sessions, your coach will help you put that into action— identifying clear steps to take and changes you can make to build a stronger foundation.

You’ll also get referrals to additional community resources, including housing and foreclosure assistance, benefits guidance, food services, and more.
